Built as a village school in 1836 by the then Duke of Norfolk, owner of Fornham Hall, for the children of the two parishes; it was enlarged in 1872 the work being paid for by Sir William Ord of Fornham House. An adjoining school master's residence was built in 1873. In 1891 there were three teachers and eighty- seven children. The school closed in 1951 and was bought by the parish council for £400 for use as a Village Hall. Since then it has been thoroughly renovated and is now widely used by various village groups. It can hold about one hundred people.
