Dear all,
Further to our last update, we would like to advise that we will be commencing phase four of these works on Tuesday 7 April.
Please see below for further details on this.
When will we be working?
Works will be carried out between Tuesday 7 April and Friday 24 April (inclusive). Our working hours will be 8pm until 6am to enable us work safely. Please be advised that some of these works are likely to cause some noise and disruption. Where possible we will minimise noise and vibration, although this is not completely avoidable, and we apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused.
What will we be doing?
Works will include full resurfacing of the junction, lining, signage installation, and the installation and commissioning of new traffic signals. We will also be constructing a new pedestrian traffic island to the south of Norfolk Road. These works formalise the final phase of works as Tollgate Gyratory.
What traffic management will be in place for these works?
For the safety of highway users and our operatives, a full closure of the Tollgate Gyratory, except for access, will be in operation whilst we carry out our works overnight. This closure will be in place between 8pm to 6am during weekdays from Tuesday 7 April to Friday 24 April. The closure extents are shown below. Affected residents will be issued separate communications detailing access arrangements during this time.
The inbound closure of Thetford Road and left turn only from Bell Meadow will also remain in place for the duration of these works and will be in place during daytime hours.
Once this phase has finished, we will aim to complete any final remedial works, demobilisation, and removal of traffic management from the scheme by early May at the latest.
Thank you for your continued patience during these works.
We will continue to provide updates regarding progress on the scheme and will notify you of any changes brought about by future phases before they commence.
